From Ms. Humble:

On-going Wednesday Help Needed

Volunteer Log Books

Parent volunteers are needed to help stuff courier envelops on Wednesday mornings.  Volunteers meet at 8:30 in the cafeteria to fill up the couriers for each homeroom.

Parents, please remember that we ask all families to donate 16 hours of volunteer time to Kittredge.  As you complete the hours, please log them in the the Volunteer Log Books in the front office.  The school secretaries will be glad to help you with the process.

Boosterthon FUN RUN Turn in Day - November 17

What a day!  The Fun Run was a tremendous success.  The boys and girls ran, walked and danced with their friends and classmates around the Boosterthon Speedway.   A special thanks to all the Teachers and Volunteers for participating and supporting our students during their run.

At this time, students should contact their sponsors and thank them for their support.   They should tell their sponsors how many laps they ran at the Boosterthon Fun Run.  Remember, the lap cap is 35.

On Friday, the students were sent home with a collection envelope and a sponsor's statement detailing total laps run and pledge money earned.  We need your help to meet our school goal of 100% collected.  Please try to collect the amount on the statement from your student's sponsors and return it by Thursday, November 17th to their teacher. Checks should be made payable to Kittredge Magnet School PTA.  Additional student collection envelopes are located outside the office in the front hallway.

If you child recorded an email address for a sponsor on their pledge website, the sponsor may now go to  www.FunRun.com/payment to

pay online.  These sponsors should receive an email directly from Boosterthon with directions for payment as well. Online payments will be charged a convenience fee in addition to the pledged amount.

Thanks again for helping the Kittredge Magnet School PTA.  Please contact me if there are any concerns.

Our second Chick-Fil-A Spirit night will be this Tuesday, November 15 at Chick-Fil-A, Perimeter Pointe.  Take cooking off your to-do list for Tuesday and come on out for a family meal and support our school.  A percentage of all sales between the hours of 5pm and 8pm will be donated to Kittredge.  Plus, you get to enjoy free ice cream!   You need to tell the cashier that you support Kittredge Magnet School.  Drive thru orders count as well.  We hope to see you there!

Canned Food Drive

Please join the KMS Student Council and Beta Club in helping fight hunger!!

For the last 30 years, Chamblee First United Methodist has hosted a canned food drive which has helped provide local families assistance with their Thanksgiving Meal.  These families are members of our immediate community, identified with the assistance of our neighborhood school counselors and social workers.  Our goal this year is greater than years past ...to help 200 families in need within our school and surrounding community... that is 1,000 people!

KMS will be collecting food items November 14 - 18

Donation bins will be located inside Kittredge.  All canned goods collected will be donated to Chamblee Methodist Food Drive

All canned and dried food items are gratefully accepted but suggested donations include:

  • Canola Oil
  • Sugar
  • Coffee
  • Dried Beans
  • Rice
  • Instant Potatoes
  • Mayonnaise
  • Boxed Dessert Mixes
  • Soups / Broth
  • Canned Corn
  • Canned Green Beans
  • Canned Black/Navy/Pinto/Northern Beans
  • Veg-All Mixed Veggies
  • Canned Peas
  • Canned Tomatoes
  • Canned Fruit

Lost and Found

The Lost and Found is located across from the School Store.  If your student has lost something, they are encouraged to look in the classrooms first - teachers keep unclaimed items for a few days before turning them in.

Remember the best offense is a good defense - make sure your student's jackets, hats, gloves are labeled with their name!
